Immediate Action Drills
July 15, 2009 on 10:31 pm | In Politics | No Comments In the military these things called “Immediate Action Drills” are used. At least they used to call them that. Examples include practicing doing what needs to be done to:Clear a building.
React to an ambush
React to incoming
And so forth …
The reason for this is to ingrain in the Marine or Soldiers mind what to do in each forseeable situation. It prevents the need for thought in taking an immediate action. These drills become automatic.
I was able to capture a political “Immediate Action Drill” for politicians. In the photo you see a photographer, this one is with the Kansas Meadowlark. He is preparing to “shoot” the candidate and her family. The family is seen here reacting to the situation and performing a “Happy Family Pose”.
It prevents though and gives them a practices action to take. I just gotta think that they practice this drill in front of the mirror at home repeatedly.
